Wordsmithie — Here, There and Everywhere

As Laura wrote in her recent post, Wordsmithie is a rapidly growing organization. Although our home base is in San Jose, near several of our Silicon Valley clients, we’re a widely scattered bunch. Many of our ’smithies operate in the Bay Area, but several live and work on the East Coast. We have others in Europe and Asia, and expect to announce other outposts soon.

The recent relaunch of our website reaffirmed just how rapidly we’ve grown since our founding in 2010. We started with just a couple of copywriters—hence, the agency name. Now we not only have wordsmiths, but graphic designers, strategists, account professionals, SEO experts and more. And we can call on even broader expertise from partner agencies such as MTM Linguasoft in Philadelphia.

We started out writing for Google and other technology companies. These days we also work in several other vertical industries, including retail, real estate and social media. And we have ’smithies with experience in quite a few other areas. In the rare instance when a client offers a product or service that is new to us, we come up to speed very quickly.

The work we produce is varied, too. We write and design many case studies, white papers and website copy. But we don’t stop there. We write and produce nearly every type of print or digital piece imaginable. Before a Wordsmithie summit in Santa Cruz last spring, we stopped by the Plantronics headquarters to see a huge touchscreen display in the lobby. We helped create the interactive history of the company that runs on that gorgeous display.

During our short history, we’ve worked with clients from San Francisco to Sydney, London to Kiev. We can’t wait to learn what people and projects we’ll encounter next.
